I guess I should have typed Clint over Quent! Screw it- you get the point. Even Scorsese’s overrated next to Eastwood’s best work.
I think Eastwood is the best American filmmaker still around. He puts douche bags like Tarantino to shame. Clint over Quint any day!
I’d like to see Gran Torino due to my love of all things Eastwood. But I’ve grown to hate the movie theater experience. We’ll see.
About to drive up to Tampa to pick up my brother-in-law & his nuclear family. It’s a beautiful day for driving. Beautiful day for anything.
Sad- just heard that Eartha Kitt died. I was a fan of her weirdness & talent.
A great holiday feast is being digested & all the kids are jumping into the pool. Christmas in Florida is a bit different.
Just watched ‘A Christmas Story’- Always great. Everything about it is great but Darren McGavin is the one that makes the whole thing work.

Watched ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ before we left Georgia. Almost didn’t cry but the note in the book gets me every time.
Watching Sarasota sunset from screened porch- reminded of Elvis C. lyric- “and the sun looked like a light bulb being swallowed by a clown”
Hopefully will start shooting during vacation break. Now I need to go do all my Christmas shopping. It’s beautiful in Sarasota- as usual.

I opened an FCE file w/ Final Cut Pro at work. When I got back to my computer that file turned all FCE files into FCP files. Won’t open.
This reasonably intelligent person is getting his ass handed to him by Final Cut Express. The setbacks are positively freaky. Supernatural.
I know I’m gonna like ‘XMAS’- not sure how many others will. It’s weird but I think it works.
Shot more great footage over weekend that rounds out the story well. In retrospect, green screen wasn’t the best idea for me right now.
‘XMAS’ will be completed this week come hell, high water, or both.
Making a Christmas themed short, w/ built-in holiday deadline, while learning Final Cut has been a challenge. FC manual is over 900 pages!
